St. Joseph Syro Malabar Parish was erected and entrusted to the Vincentian Congregation, under the jurisdiction of the Archdiocese of Bangalore, on 11th February 2001, by the then Archbishop of Bangalore, Most Rev. Dr. Ignatius Pinto.

The Parish was started with 106 families under the charismatic leadership of Late Rev. Fr. Mathew Thoyalil VC, the founder Parish Priest of St. Joseph’s Church and the then Superior of the Vincentian Ashram Bangalore.
